UN Global Compact

We’re proud to be part of the world’s biggest sustainable development programme, the UN Global Compact.

The UN Global Compact is designed to accelerate the collective impact of businesses, by upholding ten universal principles centred on human rights, labour, environment and anti-corruption.

In 2015, all UN member states adopted 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which are now well publicized and recognizable through specific iconography, which together strive for creating a world of peace and prosperity, eradicating major issues such as poverty and hunger, while protecting the planet in the midst of the climate crisis.

We became a formal signatory of the UN Global Compact in 2022 and must report annually on our progress. We subscribe to all principles, but align more closely with specific SDGs which we can influence the most.

Responsible Consumption and Production

We use over 4,000 tonnes of raw materials per annum, from suppliers around the world, manufacturing 8 million metres of fabrics. Our suppliers are audited against multiple environmental and social factors.

We produce responsibly in terms of manufacturing, operational, and health and safety practices. We maintain ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 UKAS accredited certifications across our manufacturing sites and Head Office. We operate comprehensive waste streaming and are zero to landfill at our biggest manufacturing site.

And we’re transparent in our product impacts, applying stringent eco-labels and pursuing Environmental Product Declarations and Lifecycle Assessment.
