The Future of Textile Circularity at CDW 2024

May 14, 2024byJennifer Ogden

Join us at our London showroom during Clerkenwell Design Week 2024 for talk on the 'future of textile circularity' where iinouiio's founder Dr John Parkinson and Camira's lead innovator Jodie Padgett, will address the challenge of conquering the textile waste mountain through innovation in wool and polyester textile recycling.

Together, they will share some of the ground-breaking work being undertaken to re-purpose pre- and post-consumer wool and polyester waste into new yarns and fabrics.

Dr John Parkinson has decades of experience in pre and post-consumer wool and cashmere recycling, from knitwear and woven fabrics. Working alongside his father in the 1970s, he went on to set up a pioneering new business, Evergreen, using recycled natural fibres to create yarn and fabrics using the most responsible production methods possible.

Evergreen closed during the economic downturn of the mid-1990s after which he retrained to enjoy a successful career in Applied Theatre and education. However, encouraged by his family to return to his first passion, as the world caught up with his original intentions, he co-founded iinouiio in 2019 with his wife, Linda.

In 2022, after winning UK government funded awards for both a new recycling facility and specialist R&D, iinouiio joined the Camira Group to drive textile circularity in both the fashion and interior industries.
