First Glasgow has introduced 10 new buses to operate its Glasgow Airport Express service, which offers a quick transfer route from the city centre to Glasgow Airport. The new buses operate every 10 minutes, 24/7, 365 days which means passenger comfort is paramount.

The rebranded service and development of the new fleet of Alexander Dennis Ltd (ADL) Euro Enviro200s is designed to deliver a premium airport to city service. The new buses showcase a bespoke new livery and logo, with a sophisticated color palette using a Signal Violet shade complemented by White Aluminium and black to keep the design practical but distinctive. Additional interior features include USB charging ports, under seat lighting, smart luggage racking, air conditioning and complementary WiFi.

Flat-woven fabric

The coach-style seating by Lazzerini is an additional benefit for passengers, which incorporates leather panelling and a custom-made version of our flat-woven fabric, Vision in the Pinpoint design, to enhance the comfort, detail and coordination of the interior and the exterior. We matched the colorway to coordinate with the Glasgow Airport Express branding and livery design.

As an important part of the interior, the fabric ensures the strong brand identity is continued throughout the vehicle and was chosen specifically because of its comfort, durability and aesthetic qualities.

Perfect color matching

Emma Latimer, of First Glasgow’s marketing team commented: “We chose to work with Camira because of their excellent reputation, attention to detail and going the extra mile with their customer service to help achieve a fabric design that is not only consistent with the rest of the vehicle design, but is a key feature on board as it’s one of the first things customers notice when entering the interior.

Camira fully understood what we were trying to achieve with the color of the fabric. It was very important to us that the color matched exactly the key color from the livery design. Prior to speaking to Camira I contacted various manufacturers who supply fabric to buses, motorcoaches and trains but none were able to provide fabric in the color we needed."
