Purpose
To play a key role in the Management accounts team helping the leadership and stakeholders fully understand the gross margin drivers and effectively feeding this information back to drive better performance.
Key Responsibilities
1. Supporting the Head of Commercial Finance in delivering insight into the drivers behind the gross margin at both customer and product level.
2. Reporting distribution expenditure and provide insight into margins by geography.
3. Responsibility for the preparation of group commissions and rebates
4. Responsible for the accounts and reporting for several manufacturing business units
5. Preparing budgets for multiple cost centres and tracking their performance throughout the year.
6. Producing reliable and insightful analysis surrounding margin costs. Work with other members of finance and with department heads to understand spend and variances to budget.
7. Assisting the wider business on large projects with financial analysis and insight
8. Reviewing the system controls within the Finance software
9. Development of the Finance Reporting software and implementing it across the wider business.
10. Ownership of the Fixed Asset Register and CAPEX appraisals
11. Assisting in the annual audit process, providing information to the Company's auditors.
12. Work with the Finance team to streamline internal reporting processes
13. Coaching and developing the junior management accountant roles
14. Ad Hoc duties to support the Head of Commercial Finance
Education qualifications/Experience/Skills
Essential
• 1-2 years post qualified experience in preparing management accounts and business partnering
• Experience of managing multiple projects
• Competent and comfortable analysing commercial financial data.
• High levels of competence using Finance and other information systems.
• Advanced Excel skills
• Configuring finance systems to improve controls and reports
• Excellent communication skills at all levels
Desirable
• Manufacturing background
• Experience in supporting the development of junior accountants
• New finance system implementation
• Experience of Hive Ups
• Experienced in VBA and SQL
• Skilled using AS400 and Sage X3
